First Joiners Day of 2021 Complete

Cernery18thApril

On Sunday 18th April, Club activities restarted after a slightly longer-than-usual winter hiatus. Full of enthusiasm, 92 members (including 12 new joiners) came along to South Cerney Airfield to get behind the wheel. A bumper batch of instructors was able to offer instruction to a number of existing members and support the new joiners.

We were blessed with wonderful sunshine (with some suffering with a little sunburn after, as a result) and Mick, the Ice Cream man, came to cheer us up after lunch! Unfortunately the burger van broke down but they’ve promised a return at the next event…

We’ve had some great feedback from new members, excited to be a part of this amazing Club, and it was lovely to see the familiar faces from 2020, too! Congratulations are well deserved to Cameron, Felix, Isobel, Tristan, Ella, Finley, Jasmine, Chloe, Edward, Elodie, Rafa and Carly!

Here are a few snippets of the feedback:

Thanks to everyone involved for a super day today, Finley and I had a great day! It was all so well organised and we were made to feel so welcome also – thanks!

Having achieved grade 5 by lunchtime Cameron was keen to practice his new skills and was reluctant to leave at the end of the day

We know that there are more joiners waiting in the wings, and we look forward to meeting you at future events!
