I think that will have to go down as one of the hottest car club days this year so far, I was hoping that the river may cool the air a little as we were so close to it, but I dont suppose you can compete with tarmac the size of a football pitch, that was very very warm in the ungraded area.

6 new members joined us and apart from one that had to leave early, they all made grade 5 and had some time in the afternoon to enjoy driving around the the other members. Highlights of the day for me were seeing some upgrades, a new grade 2 and a new grade 3 both of which were well deserved, I am torn as to which car was the star, Ivan’s VW was stunning and just great to see driving around the park, the Landrover Defender fully laden with bricks, sand, possibly a ladder and a wheelbarrow was quite entertaining to watch go around the circuit.

As for the food, 10 out of 10 again for the cafe, the lasagna was just how I like it, £4 as well is a real bargain swiftly  followed by Jessica and her mums chocolate brownies that were very warm and sticky by the time I managed to get anywhere near them.

There is no rest for the instructors,  back again next week at Castle Combe along with Alan and Pauline who will be doing the instruction coordinating there as well.

If you didnt make it today, maybe we will see you next week.

Nigel.
