Berkeley 16th May Review

berkeley berlingo

Once again the car club was facing the prospect of a showery day, I think it would be fair to say it was Castle Combe kind of weather, not Lyneham ‘end of the world rain’  this last Sunday. The showers lined up and were timed perfectly for afternoon briefing as is normal for car club.

The Morning started off well with 12 new joiners in the ungraded area. It was our first time trying an ungraded area at Berkeley and once we had adjusted the cones and everyone knew what they were doing I think it worked out well. Ivan and I were making sure things ran as smoothly as possible although I think both of us felt a little dizzy keeping an eye on everyone from the centre of the area.

It was great to have the catering building open for us, they will will be open for us at our future meetings, so thank you for supporting them, I thought the prices were very reasonable and the food was very good.

It was also a red letter day for some of our older members with 2 grade 1s being awarded along with the coveted X grade, well done everyone.

86 members attended on Sunday and it felt busy didn’t it! It’s a great venue for giving our members different aspects of driving including kerbs, proper road markings and traffic jams.

We have a week off next Sunday and then a crazy couple of weekends with the club running 2x normal Sunday meetings along with a Pathfinder event at Berkeley on both weekends, if you are missing us all on Sunday morning (23rd May) we will be hosting a virtual cone set up meeting at 8.30 am from the comfort of your home. To join the video meeting, click this link: https://meet.google.com/gmw-jggg-bht.
